A podcast hosted by Joe Grey

Where we're cracked,
His light shines through.

Hey, I'm Joe. I'm 6'5" and I was nearly 500 lbs. This is a place for real talk with people who know what it's like to carry that weight, and for finding out together that God isn't finished with any of us.

What this is

Heavy Conversations is me sitting down with someone who's lived with obesity, and just listening. No rush, no judgment. We weave through things like childhood, family, friendships, work, the things weight has held us back from, and love. The stuff most of us don't say out loud.

Some of it hurts. A lot of it is hope. And all through it, we give God the praise, because He's been faithful in the hardest parts.

Long talks

Full, honest conversations. You get the whole person, not just the number on the scale.

Short clips

Checking back in

Down the road, we catch up with guests to see how their journey is going.

A little about me

I'm Joe Grey. For a long time I carried close to 500 lbs on a 6'5" frame, along with a lot of weight you couldn't see. God met me in that. I started this show because I know how much it means to be heard without shame, and I want to make room for that for somebody else.

I also wrote about my own story in The Weight I Carry.
